Muscle Pears
Oh, dear, this one is a flunkie. I call it muscle pears, because it looks like these poor Bosc pears went on steroids or something, tricked out with oversized bottoms. I am posting it because I think it's important to show that not everything turns out, and to admit that we are all limited by our skill level. Maybe by this time next year, I'll be able to look back and see exactly where this one went wrong. Oil 8" x10".

Brave of you, but it's not as bad as you think it is :) Happy new year!
These are fabulous!
I think these are AWESOME! Those golds and yellows are so RICH!!! And I've seen pears just like them! GREAT JOB -- REALlY!!!!
Perhaps if you adjusted the scale of the tops of the pears, and the thickness of the stems, they might appear more balanced to you. I really didn't notice the disproportion until you pointed it out. I was busy admiring your brushwork. Your blog is such a treat!
the size of the pears looks fine to me because I've seen pears this size also. I liked the comment about thickness of the stems and tops that might alter the balance. I have enjoyed your blog today because while I am admiring your work it feels like being at an art exhibit with the artist!
