Trying Picassa for Photos

Linda suggested using Picassa, and their Blog This feature for uploading photos, so I'll give it a try. I have not been happy with the way my great camera and its high resolution photos wind up looking so mushy on the blog. Do you think it could be operator error, LOL? Anyone with suggestions on how to post really nice photos to blogger, please chime right in. Thank you, thank you. Posted by Picasa

I don't have any suggestions, but I love what you're doing! Fabulous beginnings with your plein air paintings.

Wonderful paintings!! My photos look mushy too, so I just scan now. But sometimes scanners are too small to get the whole picture.

one issue w/ your photos that you post is that they are much lower resolution than when you took them. blogger does this to save server space. my picture of jimmy on the train (http://mapleleafartistry.blogspot.com/2006/12/jimmy-on-train.html) that i scanned in and then uploaded from picasa went from a 3 MB scan to a 16.1 KB picture on my blog. you can't expect all that you see in the high resolution photo to show in the low resolution posting. i'm sure tons of little things and detail are lost in that translation -- but the posting gives us an idea of what's going on.
